Ta'Quan Zimmerman is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Idaho Stampede of the NBA Development League. Zimmerman played his college basketball most recently for the Thompson Rivers WolfPack of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport. ==College career== While at Putnam Science Academy, a prep school, Zimmerman excelled and attracted interest from several mid-major Division 1 colleges. At Monroe, Zimmerman became a much better player. Zimmerman started at Shooting Guard for Monroe CC and averaged 10.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists while shooting 39.7% from the field, 25.6% from 3, and 52.6% from the stripe. During the season several Division 1 schools showed interest and contacted Zimmerman but he failed to meet the academic qualifications again.〔http://www.mcctribunes.com/sports/mbkb/2012-13/players/taquanzimmermansyfh〕 After Monroe, Zimmerman was unsure if he would advance in basketball and after seeing some of Zimmerman's YouTube videos, Thompson Rivers contacted him and he soon committed to the school in British Columbia. Zimmerman dominated the CIS and ended up averaging 19.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists while shooting 48.9% from the field, 44.9% from 3, and 78.7% from the free throw line. In the NCAA, Zimmerman would have been considered as a Junior in college, but in CIS rules, Zimmerman would have had 2 more years of eligibility at Thompson Rivers.
